I am offering two extremely rare unopened bottles of John Smith Ales. Included in this sale is one ~6.33 Fl. Oz. bottle each of John Smith 1953 Coronation Ale and John Smith 1958 Founder’s Ale. This is possibly the rarest of beer offered in a very long time; if ever. I acquired these beers directly from the brewery in Tadcaster, England, in 2003; the 50th anniversary of Princess Elizabeth getting crowned as the Queen of England! At that time John Smith Brewery was expanding their warehouse space and demolishing some pre-existing cellar space. This beer was discovered in the non-electrified, sub-terrain, cellar manager’s warehouse office, locked behind a wrought iron, hand riveted gate. Apparently he saved a case or two of every commemorative beer ever produced during his tenure. A limited lot, but comprehensive cross section of his collection was offered to me from a colleague on condition that it was received in Tadcaster. These museum pieces were received by me on a palette at the brewery under the watchful eyes of guards. The beer was then hand carried back to the U.S. on British Airways were we needed special permission from the airline captain to load it all as carry-on luggage, as we could not check it as luggage given how rare it is. The Captain personally inspected our treasure then welcomed us onboard. Glad to have boarded that plane! The beer was authenticated at the brewery who wrote a letter explaining the origin of the beer and desire of safe passage to collectors in the U.S. These highly collectable museum pieces are for serious collectors only. All bottles are unopened and in Museum quality condition. All bottles have been properly stored in light proof cases, in a temperature and humidity controlled cellar. Free shipping via UPS.
